2 00 5 The application of à Trous wave filtering and Monte Carlo analysis on SECIS 2001 solar eclipse observations

چکیده
8000 images of the Solar corona were captured during the June 2001 total Solar eclipse. New software for the alignment of the images and an automated technique for detecting intensity oscillations using multi scale wavelet analysis were developed. Large areas of the images covered by the Moon and the upper corona were scanned for oscillations and the statistical properties of the atmospheric effects were determined. Thè a Trous wavelet transform was used for noise reduction and Monte Carlo analysis as a significance test of the detections. The effectiveness of those techniques is discussed in detail.

Sensitivity Analysis of a Wideband Backward-wave Directional Coupler Using Neural Network and Monte Carlo Method (RESEARCH NOTE)
In this paper sensitivity analysis of a wideband backward-wave directional coupler due to fabrication imperfections is done using Monte Carlo method. For using this method, a random stochastic process with Gaussian distribution by 0 average and 0.1 standard deviation is added to the different geometrical parameters of the coupler and the frequency response of the coupler is estimated. The appli...
متن کاملSolar coronal observations at high frequencies
The Solar Eclipse Coronal Imaging System (SECIS) is a simple and extremely fast, high-resolution imaging instrument designed for studies of the solar corona. Light from the corona (during, for example, a total solar eclipse) is reflected off a heliostat and passes via a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and beam splitter to two CCD cameras capable of imaging at 60 frames a second. The cameras are at...
متن کاملEconomic optimization of solar systems in uncertain economic conditions using the Monte Carlo method
Solar energy is an environmentally sustainable energy source as it is clean and inexhaustible. Solar systems are very common and cost-effective, thus, can be used for many home applications. In this paper, a new method is presented to optimize solar systems economically, regarding to energy cost fluctuations. In spite of conventional analyses, in which the inflation is considered constant, ...

The increasing penetration of renewable energy results in changing the traditional power system planning and operation tools. As the generated power by the renewable energy resources are probabilistically changed, the certain power system analysis tolls cannot be applied in this case. Probabilistic optimal power flow is one of the most useful tools regarding the power system analysis in presen...
